End of Jehoshaphat's Reign and Jehoram's Accession

2 Chronicles 20:31-21:3

Chapter 20
31 And Jehoshaphat reigned over Judah. He was thirty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty-five years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Azubah daughter of Shillem. 32 He walked in the way of his father Asa and did not turn from it, doing what was right in the eyes of the LORD. 33 However, the high places did not depart, and still the people did not prepare their heart to the God of their fathers. 34 And the rest of the words of Jehoshaphat, the first and the last, behold, they are written in the words of Jehu son of Hanani, who brought them up into the book of the kings of Israel. 35 And after this Jehoshaphat king of Judah allied with Ahaziah king of Israel, who caused him to do wickedness. 36 And he joined him in partnership with his people to make ships to go to Tarshish, and they made ships at Ezion-geber. 37 And Eliezer son of Dodavahu from Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat, saying, "Because you have joined yourself with Ahaziah, the LORD has burst through your works, and the ships were broken, and they did not retain strength to go to Tarshish."

Chapter 21
1 Jehoshaphat lay down with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the city of David, and Jehoram his son reigned in his place. 2 He had brothers, sons of Jehoshaphat: Azariah, Jahiel, Zechariah, Azariah, Michael, and Shaphatiah. All these were sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel. 3 Their father gave them many gifts of silver, gold, and precious things, with fortified cities in Judah, and he gave the kingdom to Jehoram, for he was the firstborn.
